Happy New Year!

Hello! Welcome to 2010! (a bit belatedly, I must admit.)

I plan on ringing in the New Year with some new jewelry and new posts, but that will come a little later on this month. Right now I would like to tell you about a wonderful opportunity to help others AND get some pretty cool stuff for yourself. By now you have heard about the terrible earthquakes in Haiti. Unless, of course, you live under a rock, in which case I'm impressed that you are able to get internet access there. =) Anyway...the Etsy Queer Street Team, which I am a member of, has started a donation store. 100% of sales from this shop go to benefit charities. This month we are donating to Madre.org, which is helping in the Haiti relief effort. So get on down to the store and check it out! We've got a great mixture of items and prices, including soaps, jewelry, ceramic tile and stuffed animals. Now you can feel good about spending money, because it's all going to a good cause!

I have donated a new necklace I made, featuring one of my favorite Harry Potter quotations: "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." Does that describe someone you know? The pendant is made from Precious Metal Clay (99.9% pure silver) and has 3 ruby red cubic zirconias to add a touch of sparkle. It's part of my new "Custom Quotables" collection, where you can create your own custom pendant featuring the quote of your choice. Check them out here. I have some sample pendants shown here. This makes a great gift for all those hard to shop for people in your life!

Another great gift is the name necklace, shown here. I made these for Christmas gifts this year and I can't tell you how much they were appreciated. I know one mom who has not taken her necklace off for almost a month! I will be listing these in my shop shortly, as soon as I get some more pictures. If you would like one in the meantime, just email me and let me know! The crystals can be whatever you like...I've been doing birthstones but some people like pink and blue.

I hope you are enjoying your 2010 so far! Good luck with those resolutions!
